Why Plant Perennials?

  • Longevity and Low Maintenance: Perennials return year after year, reducing the need for replanting. Once established, they require less watering and care.
  • Cost-Effective: Perennials save money over time by eliminating the need for annual replanting and reducing maintenance expenses.
  • Environmental Benefits: Their roots improve soil health, prevent erosion, and support biodiversity by providing habitat for pollinators. They also help sequester carbon, contributing to climate change mitigation.
  • Aesthetic Appeal: Perennials offer diverse colors, textures, and forms, providing seasonal interest and a long-lasting garden display.
  • Sustainability: They produce less waste by eliminating the need for yearly replacements and often require fewer pesticides and fertilizers.
  • Versatility: Perennials are adaptable to different garden settings, from borders to ground covers, and complement other plants in companion planting.

Perennials offer a balance of beauty, sustainability, and practicality. Incorporating perennials into your garden creates a lasting, eco-friendly landscape that enhances both aesthetics and environmental health. Throughout the spring, summer and early fall, we carry over 1500 varieties, both tried and true and a lot of the new!! Our goal is to provide you with the largest selection of quality plants in the area. We believe we have the greatest varieties and the highest quality available.

WE ENCOURAGE PLANTING NATIVE PLANTS
Establishing native species allows for eco-processes that can’t be achieved with common lawn grass or ornamentals. To strengthen the natural habitat in your backyard, we encourage the use of native plants. You will find symbols on our plant signs to easily identify native plants and native cultivars and selections. We also offer a Native Plant handout, which you can view or download here:

OUR PERENNIALS COME FROM LOCAL GROWERS
Sourcing from local growers not only supports our community’s economy but also ensures that the plants are well-suited to our region's climate and soil conditions.

Locally grown plants are typically more resilient since they've already adapted to the environment, increasing their chances of thriving in your garden.
